Bio: Lorenzo is an undergraduate master student in Mathematics at the University of Padua. Throughout his academic journey, he has developed a strong theoretical foundation in mathematics, with a particular emphasis on analysis and probability theory. During his Erasmus exchange in the Netherlands (Universiteit van Amsterdam), he broadened his perspectives and began to view mathematics as a powerful tool for analyzing and solving real-world problems, such as in the medical field, and more specifically in epidemiology. Research activities: Lorenzo is currently working on his thesis in the field of epidemiology, under the supervision of Professor Chiara Poletto and Professor Marco Formentin. His research focuses on studying surveillance heterogeneity in relation to population heterogeneity within a SIR model, marking his first foray into research in this domain. |
