Bio: Ioannis is an undergraduate master student in Physics at the University of Padova. He obtained his bacherlor's degree from the University of Ioannina, Greece. During the course of his master studies he has attended various courses ranging from experimental and theoretical physics to solid state physics, ecology and epidemiology. He has currently shown particular interest in epidemiology and complex systems, focusing on the dynamics of competing pathogens. He currently works on his master thesis in the field of epidemiology under the supervision of Prof. Chiara Poletto and Prof. Amos Maritan. Research activities: Ioannis' bachelor thesis at the University of Ioannina focused on nuclear physics with title "Characterization of the BC501A and stilbene-d12 neutron detectors by means of the GEANT4 detector simulation toolkit". During his Erasmus placement in Ljubljana, Slovenia, he worked at Jozef Stefan Institue on the "Calibration of the Segmented Annular Silicon Drift Detector used for X-ray spectroscopy". His work was presented as a poster at the International Conference on Nuclear Microprobe Technology and Applications (ICNMTA) in 2022 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. |
