Bio: During the a.y. 2015/2016 he joined a double degree programme and attended the Master "Physique Théorique des Systèmes Complexes" at University Paris Sud. During the same year he carried a stage in computational epidemiology at EPIcx lab under the supervision of Dr. Chiara Poletto. Since October 2016 he is a PhD student at IPLESP under the supervision of Chiara Poletto and Pierre-Yves Boëlle.

Research activities: Francesco's current research work revolves around characterizing, both numerically and analitically, the dynamics of multiple interacting pathogens spreading in heterogeneous populations. His aim is to shed light on how the complex interplay between biological interactions and hosts' mobility and contact patterns determines the emergence and persistence of new pathogenic strains.
